Nachyn Mongush is a Tuvan musician, throat singer, and composer. He was born in the small village of Maynagarin in the Republic of Tuva, Russia, on December 15, 1969. Mongush is well-known for his mastery of the khoomei (throat singing) technique, which he has studied since he was a child.
He began performing with the National Orchestra of Tuva in 1991, and has since performed extensively both as a solo artist and with other musicians and ensembles. Mongush's music draws inspiration from traditional Tuvan folk music, but he also incorporates jazz, world music, and classical influences into his compositions.
Mongush has released several albums, including "Tuvan Folk Music" (1997) and "Huun-Huur-Tu & Nachyn Mongush: Live at Fantasy Studios" (2008), and he has collaborated with a variety of artists from around the world. He has also been involved in numerous cultural and educational activities aimed at preserving and promoting Tuvan music and culture.
